The Kurdistan Region Security Agency said in a statement that it seized 30 kilograms of crystal meth in a successful operation.

According to the statement, the General Anti-Narcotics Directorate, in collaboration with the General Security Operations Directorate and the Checkpoint Security Directorate, was able to confiscate the drugs.

The Security Agency stated that, based on prior intelligence and investigations, a successful operation on April 6, 2025, prevented the transportation of 30 kilograms of drugs.

“The drug trafficker, a foreign national attempting to transport the drugs to Turkey, was arrested and all of the drugs were confiscated,” the statement read.

The Security Agency also confirmed that the suspect is being detained under Article 25 of the Anti-Drug Law, with investigations continuing.
