The 2027 draft budget bill returns to the Council of Ministers next week.
The Kurdistan Region seeks to increase its fiscal share to 14.14%.
The Region's current financial allocation stands at 12.70%.
Parliament is expected to vote on and approve the bill by early December.
Iraqi Council of Representatives Member Srwa Mohammed stated that the draft budget bill will be sent back to the Council of Ministers next week, confirming that the Kurdistan Region's current share stands at 12.70%.
The lawmaker said that according to the information received, the 2027 budget bill is scheduled to be sent to the Council of Ministers by the middle of next week after being amended by the Ministry of Finance.
Mohammed noted that initially, the budget bill will go to the Finance Committee, which will subsequently prepare a report on it.
Speaking to Channel8, the Kurdish Member of Parliament stated that an agreement has been reached between the Kurdistan Region delegation and the Federal Ministry of Finance to submit a joint memorandum to the Council of Ministers.
The upcoming cabinet meeting, she added, will subsequently determine whether to approve raising the Kurdistan Region's fiscal share to 14.14%.
She indicated that following that, the bill will undergo its first reading, adding that they expect it to be voted on and approved by early December.
The upcoming legislative review follows a period of intense fiscal negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad regarding national resource allocations.
According to the draft budget bill obtained by Channel8, Iraq's total public expenditure for 2027 is estimated at a massive 217 trillion dinars.
With total national revenues projected at 174 trillion dinars, the federal treasury is facing a significant planned deficit of 43 trillion dinars.
Amid these overall fiscal strains, Article 10 of the draft bill remains a highly critical focus area as it is specifically dedicated to regulating the financial relationship with the Kurdistan Region.
Securing a consensus on Article 10 is widely considered vital to preventing prolonged political deadlock before the draft heads to a final parliamentary vote.
Consequently, the upcoming Council of Ministers review represents a pivotal step toward stabilizing public spending and finalizing the state's broader financial roadmap.
